Adocacy

disABILITY LINK supports our consumers through educational programming and opportunities throughout the year. There are three staff whose primary focus is advocacy.

  • Programs such as take ACTION!, which began this year, works to help participants become more involved advocates and develop strategies for implementing their advocacy goals.
  • Right Flank, March! is a program, also started this year, that works with veterans with disabilities to expand their knowledge and skills for living independently and successfully in the community.
  • Empowering Our Youth, a program that began in 2010, works with youth in the disability community to offer advocacy opportunities that will empower them through knowledge and resources.

In addition to the programs mentioned above, disABILITY LINK supports consumers to go to events such as Disability Day at the Capitol, ADAPT Actions and People First events and meetings.
